PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper foil improved in water wettability and adhesion between a coating originally poor in affinity with the surface of the copper foil and the copper foil surface. SOLUTION: The ten-point average roughness (Rz) in the rectangular direction to the rolling direction of the surface of copper foil is >=0.7 μm, furthermore, the surface of the copper foil has composite coating contg. the hydroxide of copper and the oxide of copper, and, moreover, this composite coating has a coating compsn. in which, in the narrow region photoelectron spectrum of a Cu2p3 orbit in the case of being measured by X-ray photoelectron spectrum analysis, at the time of defining the length from the base line of this spectrum to the spectrum peak as Cu2p3 bond energy value, the Cu2p3 bond energy value A equivalent to Cu(OH)2, the Cu2p3 bond energy value B equivalent to CuO and the Cu2p3 bond energy value C equivalent to Cu2O satisfy the relation of (A+B)/(A+B+C)>=0.3. |
