PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase change type optical recording medium having excellent recording density and repeating recording characteristics. SOLUTION: In the phase change type optical recording medium comprising a recording layer of an Ag-In-Sb-Te phase change recording material; the layer utilizes a change of optical properties of a phase transfer between a crystallized state having a single or a plurality of crystal phases containing at least one metastable crystal phase and an amorphous state made of an amorphous phase, a composition of the layer at an atomic ratio of a composition formula represented by an AgaInbSbxTe(1-a-b-x), wherein x representing a composition of Sb is in a range of 0.72<=x+2a+7b/6<=0.82, and the crystal phase is a crystal phase belonging to a space group Fm3m. |
