PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling tower capable of preventing proliferation of bacteria and keeping cleanness of the cooling water. SOLUTION: The cooling tower 3 is provided with a heat exchanger 10 arranged in the midway of a circulation path 2 of the cooling water W and cooling the cooling water W by heat exchange with air, an electrolytic power source device 16, an electrolytic bath 13 arranged in the midway of the circulation path 2, and electrolytic electrodes 14, 15 connected to the electrolytic power source device 16 and arranged in the electrolytic bath 13 in a state dipped into the cooling water W. The electrolytic power source device 16 is provided with an AC power source, a rectifier for rectifying the AC voltage, a transformer for adjusting a magnitude of the voltage after rectifying (electrolytic voltage), and a control device for switching polarity of the voltage applied to the electrolytic electrodes 14, 15. |
