<p>An electrodeless discharge lamp with high lamp efficiency. The electrodeless discharge lamp (100) comprises an envelope (1) having a discharge gas filled therein, a coil (8) producing an electromagnetic field in the envelop (1), and a raised portion formed in the envelope (1) and projecting outward of the envelope (1). The tube wall load of the electrodeless discharge lamp (100) is not less than 0.05 W/cm2. The envelop (1) has a recess cavity (2) and the coil (8) may be disposed in the recess cavity (2).</p> |
