PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visible laser device which is compact and consumes low power. SOLUTION: The visible laser device is equipped with a laser diode (LD) to output excitation light and a wavelength conversion element to convert the excitation light into visible light. To be more specific, a 0.98μm LD 14 outputs excitation light with 976 nm oscillation wavelength, and a 1.3μm DFB-LD 13 outputs excitation light with 1,310 nm oscillation wavelength. The excitation light with 976 nm oscillation wavelength is branched with an optical branching filter 17, one portion is outputted to the wavelength conversion element 41b, and the other portion is outputted to an optical multiplexer 18. The excitation light with 1,310 nm oscillation wavelength is multiplexed with the one branched excitation light in the optical multiplexer 18 and outputted to the wavelength conversion element 41a. The other branched excitation light is made incident on a nonlinear optical waveguide 42b of the wavelength conversion element 41b, and 488 nm light generated as a second harmonic is outputted. Also the multiplexed excitation light is made incident on a nonlinear optical waveguide 42a of the wavelength conversion element 41a, and 560 nm light generated as sum frequency light is outputted.
