<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a down-sized and low-priced optical communication module. <P>SOLUTION: The optical communication module 1A comprises a surface-emitting semiconductor laser 3 and an end surface emitting semiconductor laser 4 that are contained in a single package 2. The surface-emitting semiconductor laser 3 emits a first wavelength light and is mounted on a first device mounting surface 8a of a device mounting stage 8. The end surface emitting semiconductor laser 4 emits a second wavelength light different from the first wavelength light, and is mounted on a second device mounting surface 8b perpendicular to the first device mounting surface 8a. The axis of the surface-emitting semiconductor laser 3 is substantially parallel with and adjacent to the axis of the end surface emitting semiconductor 4, and the light emitted from the surface-emitting semiconductor laser 3 and light emitted from the end surface emitting semiconductor laser 4 are both condensed by one lens 5 and enter one optical fiber 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
