PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional peripheral device capable of easily acquiring image data when the image data of images printed on a recording medium are newly required, and an image data acquisition method. SOLUTION: By the multifunctional peripheral device 1, just by preparing an original and reading a QR code printed on the original by a scanner 3, a user can acquire the image data of the image printed on the original. Thus, when the image data of the image printed on the original are newly needed, since it is not required to perform work of finding desired image data from two or more pieces of image data stored in a memory card while confirming the image displayed on an LCD 41 with time and labor as before, the image data are easily acquired.
