PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing loads on a receiving side and performing transmission processing without losing a function capable of expressing SVG data in transmitting the SVG data in addition to facsimile image data. SOLUTION: An NSF signal in which information indicating whether or not an external device can correspond to an NSS signal is embedded is received from an external apparatus (S301). When the received information indicates that the external device can correspond to the NSS signal, the NSS signal in which SVG data are embedded is transmitted to the external apparatus (S302, S303).
