A heat pump is provided with: a compressor for compressing a refrigerant and discharging the compressed refrigerant; a first heat exchanger for condensing the refrigerant from the compressor; a flow rate adjustment valve for adjusting the flow rate of the refrigerant condensed by the first heat exchanger; an expansion valve, the degree of opening of which is adjustable, the expansion valve reducing the pressure of the refrigerant having passed through the flow rate adjustment valve; a second heat exchanger for cooling an object, the temperature of which is to be adjusted, the cooling being performed using the refrigerant, the pressure of which has been reduced by the expansion valve; and a control device for controlling the degree of opening of the expansion valve on the basis of the difference between the temperature of a refrigerant flowing into the second heat exchanger and the temperature of a refrigerant flowing out of the second heat exchanger, the control device also controlling the degree of opening of the flow rate adjustment valve on the basis of the flow rate of a refrigerant supplied to the second heat exchanger. |
