In a real-time locating system comprising a plurality of bases suitable for determining arrival times of radio frequency signals emitted by beacons, as well as a central computer suitable for locating the beacons on the basis of said arrival times, each beacon generates a radio frequency signal thus: a preamble symbol, on a first bandwidth (BW1); at least one synchronization symbol on a second bandwidth (BW2) at least as wide as the first bandwidth; at least one locating symbol, on a third bandwidth (BW3) that is wider than the second bandwidth; so that an identifier of said beacon known to said central computer is carried by the set made up of the synchronization symbol(s) and the locating symbol(s). |
