<p>The present invention lies in a process for producing a honeycomb structure having a plurality of cells each functioning as a passage of fluid, the process comprising: applying mask 11 to some of the cells, at an end face of ceramic honeycomb structure; dipping the end face having mask 11 in slurry 10 containing at least a ceramic powder, to force the slurry into cells without mask, to form plugged portions 2 therein; and drying the plugged portions 2 to obtain a honeycomb structure 1 wherein cells without mask are plugged, characterized in that the drying of the plugged portions 2 is conducted by a thermal conduction device 12. <IMAGE></p> |
