ORGANIC ELECTRO LUMINESCENCE DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

An OELD device and a method for driving the same are provided to extend the life span of the OELD(Organic ElectroLuminescence Display) device by applying negative polarity voltages during a normal operation without using a negative polarity voltage supply interval. An OELD(Organic Electroluminescence Display) device includes an OELD panel(100), a gamma voltage generator(250), a data converter(230), and a source driver(260). The OELD panel includes pixels having OELD elements. The gamma voltage generator generates a reference gamma voltage based on a gamma curve mapped the lowest gray scale as a negative polarity voltage. The data converter converts a first data signal into a second data signal including the data of the lowest gray scale. The source driver converts the second data signal into an analog typed third data signal using the reference gamma voltage and outputs the converted signal to the OELD panel.
