PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved magnetic recording head that overcomes limitations, disadvantages, and/or shortcomings of an optically-assisted magnetic recording head. SOLUTION: Data is recorded in a magnetic recording medium by using a recording head. The recording head is provided with a waveguide 58 provided with a path in which radiation energy is transmitted, a near-field coupling structure 70 positioned in the waveguide and including a plurality of arms, in which each of them has a flat part and a bending part, the flat part is almost parallel in the surface of the magnetic storage medium, the bending part is extended to the magnetic storage medium, and separated so as to form a gap adjacent to the surface of air bearing, and a means applying a write magnetic field to a part of a magnetic recording medium to be heated by radiation energy.
