PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein although form identification result presentation methods generally display the name of an identified form type, it is difficult to judge whether the identification result is correct only by the name when a variety of forms are handled. SOLUTION: An input form image is presented in superposition on a sample form image (0401) of the form type whose feature matches most as the result of form identification. If the form images are displaced from each other (0402), form feature point mapping (0403, 0404) is used to absorb the displacement in display (0405, 0406). Different portions can be highlighted or otherwise displayed to streamline the sort of the identified form (0407) displayed on the display device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
