PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a necessary map image easily without increasing a processing load for drawing or the like even during map scrolling and when the scroll speed is high. SOLUTION: The map display system 10 includes a scroll detection means 282 for detecting a scrolling operation by an operation input means 28, a scroll map data extraction means 23 for extracting scroll map data from map data when the scroll detection means 282 detects a scrolling operation, and a scroll control means 29. The scroll map data extraction means 23 extracts the scroll map data including a link which is connected to each node constituting a guidance route and is within a predetermined range of the node and POI data within a predetermined range of each node and the link within a predetermined range of the node from the map data.
