METHOD FOR FORMING FLUOROCARBON RESIN COATING FILM AND OBJECT HAVING COATING FILM FORMED THEREBY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing member such as a fixing belt and a pressure belt which has a fluorocarbon resin coating film, which is smooth and excellent in wear resistance and durability, and is suitable for fixing not only a monochrome image but also a full-color image at a high speed and to provide a method for manufacturing the fixing member. SOLUTION: A method for forming a fluorocarbon resin coating film comprises the steps of: immersing a base material in a dispersion liquid of a fluorocarbon resin having a two-peak particle size distribution consisting of small particles having 0.01-1.0μm average particle size and large particles having 3.0-80μm average particle size to apply the dispersion liquid of the fluorocarbon resin to the base material while decreasing the coefficient of thixotropy of the dispersion liquid of the fluorocarbon resin which comes into contact with the surface of the base material at the least in the dispersion liquid of the fluorocarbon resin; drying the applied dispersion liquid of the fluorocarbon resin; and baking the dried fluorocarbon resin.
