PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly detect setting of a metal foreign object 5 on a charge stand 1.SOLUTION: A contactless charge method includes the processes of: setting a contactless power receiver 2 on a charge stand 1; making a power reception coil 4 of the contactless power receiver 2 be electromagnetically coupled with a power transmission coil 3 of the charge stand 1; performing power transfer from the power transmission coil 3 to the power reception coil 4 by using electromagnetic induction action; and charging a battery of the contactless power receiver 2 with power induced in the power reception coil 4. The contactless charge method includes a process of detecting a variation (&Dgr;H) in inductance of the power reception coil 4 for determining, on the basis of the variation (&Dgr;H) in inductance, that a metal foreign object is set close to the contactless power receiver 2 on the charge stand 1. |
