It performs feedback control during the slip control so that an actual slip amount Nbetween a turbine rotating speed NT and an engine rotating speed NE becomes a target slip amount N. It also stops the feedback control when downshift is carried out, and changes over it into feedforward control depending on a target rotating speed Nto determine an engaging state keeping hydraulic pressure (a target hydraulic pressure) PLU2 which can keep the lock-up clutch 26 in a predetermined engaging state.
