Provided is a communication system that reduces a processing load of a transfer apparatus or the like in the case where communication is realized between VLANs between different domains. The communication system includes: a first transfer apparatus positioned at an end point of a network; a second transfer apparatus positioned at an end point of the network; and a control apparatus that constructs a virtual network by controlling the first and second transfer apparatuses. The control apparatus sets, for the first transfer apparatus, a first processing rule for, in the case where a packet into which a first tag including an identifier for identifying the virtual network is inserted is received, insertion of a second tag into the received packet and transfer of the received packet from a predetermined port, and sets, for the second transfer apparatus, a second processing rule for, in the case where the packet into which the second tag is inserted is received, removal of the second tag and transfer from a predetermined port. |
