[Problem] To provide a communication device and a communication method which make it possible to reduce communication overhead while suppressing power consumption, in a wireless LAN standard communication operation. [Solution] Provided is a communication device which is provided with a first communication unit which performs a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) standard communication operation for starting communication by performing a connection process, and a second communication unit which performs a second communication standard communication operation that differs from the wireless LAN standard communication operation. The second communication unit performs the second communication standard communication operation on the basis of a request for a communication operation by the first communication unit. |
