PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing-up assisting chair which is compact and light-weight and excellent in the support function of standing up and seating.SOLUTION: A seat is supported by a link mechanism having a front link 14 and two pairs of rear links 15 so as to retreat while rising. The rear links 15 are supported by a spring unit 22, and thus the seat 2 is energized upward. A fifth shaft 26 is fitted into a long hole 33. During standing-up, the fifth shaft 26 turns the rear links 15 by pressing an upper end of the long hole 33. When the seat 2 rises fully, the spring unit 22 is turned by self-weight and the fifth shaft 26 is shifted to a bottom end of the long hole 33. This reduces an energizing force during seating. Also, the fifth shaft 26 rises through the long hole 33 due to guide action of a guide body 36, and thus the energizing force increases slightly as the seat 2 moves downward.
