PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an irrigation fluid composition which restores dry spots which cause trouble in e.g. a golf course or prevents their occurrence by using a polymeric water retentive. SOLUTION: The polymeric water retentive is desirably a biodegradable one that is particularly desirably a crosslinked polyamino acid, through it is exemplified by a crosslinked polyamino acid, a polysaccharide, a crosslinked protein, a crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol, or a crosslinked polyethylene glycol. The crosslinked polyamino acid is, for example, a polymer or copolymer having repeating units of formula I or II in the main chain skeleton and/or side chain skeleton. In the formulae, X is H, an alkali metal ion, an alkaline earth metal ion, or ammonium. Usually, the composition contains 0.001-30 wt.% suspended or gel-like polymeric water retentive. The composition is obtained by dispersing a polymeric water retentive and, optionally, additives such as a fertilizer and an agricultural chemical in water. |
