The roof water inlet has an accumulating element (12) with an overflow edge (12c) which, corresponding to a water accumulation limiting value, is installed above the roof surface (5). A deflection plate (13) is located at a distance above the overflow edge and forms a closed flow in a drain pipe connected to a drain opening in the inlet. The deflection plate is constructed in hood fashion and constructed so that it forms with the accumulating element a closed flow passage section.
