Electro-hydraulic power steering system for a motor vehicle

The system has a hydraulic pump (8) driven by an electrical motor (9) under the control of a computer (10) based on signal representing vehicle speed and a signal representing rate of change of angle of a steering wheel. The computer provides the signal representing rate of change of angle of the steering wheel, and is programmed for establishing the signal by applying high and low pass filter functions to current values of the motor.
