Crankcase ventilation device

The crankcase has a gas outlet, and a return pipe to feed the gas into the intake area. The device has a multiple-function assembly for separation of oil from the return gas. A first functional area for reduction of pressure pulsation is formed by a valve (110), in a dividing wall between upper and lower chambers (114,124) of the crankcase interior (102). A second functional area for first oil separation is formed by a centrifugal wheel (232) with blades, which define a ring gap together with the intake area of a ventilation pipe (238). A third functional area is formed by a knitted material separator (234), located in the ventilation pipe behind the centrifugal wheel. This separator consists of a metallic or organic material, or a fuel and oil-resistant plastic.
