PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel-like composition excellent in temporal stability in a wide temperature rage from low temperature to high temperature, and excellent in washability and in water washability after used. SOLUTION: This gel-like composition comprises (a) 40 to 90 mass% of an oil component liquid at ordinary temperature, (b) 7 to 40 mass% of one or more nonionic surfactants selected from POE alkyl ethers, POE fatty acid esters, POE glyceryl fatty acid esters, POE hydrogenated caster oil and its fatty acid esters, POE sorbitan fatty acid esters, POE propylene glycol fatty acid esters and sorbitan fatty acid esters which have HLB of 6 to 17 and are liquid or pasty at the ordinary temperature, (c) 1 to 12 mass% of an organic modified clay mineral, (d) 0.5 to 10 mass% of water, and (e) 0.1 to 5 mass% of starch.
