PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding system and a welding method where the welding of each rim and disk in two or more kinds of wheels can be processed by a single welding line, and productivity is not degraded. SOLUTION: The welding system comprises: a carrier device (2) for taking each wheel (1) before welding from a carrier line and also moving the welded wheel (1) to the carrier line; a welding mechanism (3) for welding the joining parts of each rim (11) and disk (12); and a plurality of moving devices (4) holding each wheel (1) at the tip and moving between the carrier means (2) and the welding mechanism (3). The moving device (4) is composed in such a manner that a posture in which each wheel (1) held at the tip is made horizontal and a posture in which each wheel (1) is tilted to the horizontal plane can be changed.
