PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture detection method which accurately measures the local moisture amount of matter to be measured in a high-temperature atmosphere. SOLUTION: An oscillator (10) for producing a microwave of 3-30 GHz, and a receiver (17) are installed outside the high-temperature atmosphere (20), a transmission antenna (13) and a receiving antenna (14) are arranged in the high-temperature atmosphere, the transmission antenna is connected to the oscillator via a normal bend (12) and a waveguide pipe (13), and the receiving antenna (14) is connected to the receiver (17) via a normal bend (15) and a waveguide pipe (16). A substance (21) to be measured is positioned between the transmission antenna and the receiving antenna, and irradiated with microwaves generated in the oscillator, and the microwaves transmitted through the substance are guided to the receiver, and the moisture content of the substance is calculated from the attenuation ratio of the microwaves.
