LED LAMP WITH REFLECTOR

A LED lamp for use in an existing light fixture may be used in either a base-up or a base-down orientation. The lamp includes an at least partially optically transmissive enclosure. A LED assembly is located in the enclosure and emits light when energized through an electrical path. A heat sink dissipates heat from the LED assembly where the heat sink is connected to the enclosure such that the lamp has a longitudinal axis that extends from the heat sink to the enclosure. A reflector reflects light along the longitudinal axis of the lamp. The reflector may be oriented to reflect light either toward or away from the heat sink.

1. A lamp comprising:
an at least partially optically transmissive enclosure; a LED assembly comprising at least one LED, the LED assembly being located in the enclosure and the at least one LED operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path; a heat sink for dissipating heat from the LED assembly, the heat sink being connected to the enclosure such that the lamp has a longitudinal axis that extends from the heat sink to the enclosure; a reflector secured to the heat sink such that the reflector reflects light along the longitudinal axis of the lamp.
