An oxygen absorbing film including a nonporous active layer. The nonporous active layer includes a water insoluble resin including polyether, and a water activated oxygen absorber. The film includes a water vapor permeability greater than or equal to 0.03956 grams-millimeters per square meter per twenty four hours (g⋅mm/m 2 ⋅24hrs) at 5°C and 90% relative humidity.
