The invention relates to a device for sonic configuration in a motor vehicle. Said device comprises a hollow body (6), which is divided into at least two chambers by at least one sonic transmission device (7). According to the invention, one chamber is connected to a gas conduction part of an internal combustion engine that is located in the vehicle by means of an inlet conduit (3) and the other chamber is acoustically coupled to the interior of the vehicle and/or to the space surrounding the vehicle by means of an outlet conduit (10). A valve device (11) is located in the inlet conduit (3) and/or in the outlet conduit (10), said valve reducing the cross-section of the respective conduit in accordance with a control variable.
