A thermally insulating activity mat bag (10 or 100) having a bag portion (12, 102) with openable face(s) (70, 72, 105), an activity mat portion (14, 111) that is connected to the bag portion (12, 102), a closure (20 or 112) for closing the activity mat portion (14, 111) over the openable face(s) (70, 72, 105) of the bag portion, attachments (24) for holding the activity mat bag to a surface, and tethers (86) for holding toys and other items (84) to the activity mat bag. The activity mat portion (14, 111) preferably bears graphical indicia (92) thereon which can be themed to the tethered toys (84). Accessory mats (140) with different graphical indicia (146) can be provided which attach to the top, sides, or ends of the activity mat (14, 111). The tethered toys (84) can be selected to fit the theme of the activity mat portion (14, 111) and the accessory mat(s) (140) if desired. |
