PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a teapot for pouring tea by one hand, in which conventional lid member manufacturing processes are not prohibited, and there is no restriction to the placement position of a lid member to a teapot body. SOLUTION: The teapot is provided with the teapot body 2 having an opening 2a at an upper part, and a spout 4 and a handle 5 on side parts, and the lid member 3 to close the opening 2a formed in the teapot body 2, with a tab 3b formed at an upper center part. The handle 5 has an abutment part 5g at a part extended from the outer circumference of the lid member 3 toward the center of the lid member 3, so that the thumb around the first joint or the forefinger around the second joint of a user abuts on it simultaneously as the thumb or the forefinger on the tip side presses the tab 3b formed on the lid member 3 toward the teapot body 2.
