摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic endoscope which can block a rise in the surface temperature of an ultrasonic probe even when a lighting means and an image pickup means are supplied with a sufficient energy by enabling a restriction in the conduction of heat to the ultrasonic probe from a heat source for the lighting means, the image pickup means and the like within a flexible tube of an inserting part. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic endoscope has an ultrasonic probe 22 for transmitting or receiving ultrasonic waves mounted on the tip face of the flexible tube of the inserting part and an image sensor 12, a light guide 14 and a channel 27 for coolants are disposed within the flexible tube of the inserting part. The channel 27 for coolants is preferably disposed along the light guide 14. The first peripheral member 213 so arranged as to fill a clearance between the image sensor 12, the light guide 14 and the channel 27 for coolants is preferably made of a material with a heat conductivity larger than that of the second peripheral member 214 making up other parts.
