PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for an aircraft capable of reducing the weight of the tire while remarkably improving durability in heavy load traveling. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire for the aircraft which comprises a pair of beads 1 and a pair of side walls 2, and treads 3 connected to both the side walls 2, and has a carcass 5 of bias structure toroidally extending between the pair of beads 1 and comprising a plurality of sheets of carcass plies wherein a plurality of organic fiber cords arranged in parallel are coated with rubber, the carcass 5 comprises a turn-up ply 5a and a down ply 5b, and the organic fiber cords satisfying an equation (I):σ≥-0.01×E+1.2 and an equation (II):σ≥0.02 (where,σis thermal contraction stress (cN/dtex) at 177°C and E is an elastic modulus (cN/dtex) at the time of a 49 N load at 25°C) are used for the down ply 5b.
