PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both non-ringing of an external telephone set when facsimile is received and reduction in a power consumption amount.SOLUTION: A ringer control circuit comprises: a clip circuit that clips the voltage level of a ringer signal arriving from a telephone line to a range in which an externally equipped telephone set does not ring; a ringer circuit that generates a pseudo ringer signal to ring the externally equipped telephone set; a first relay circuit that connects the telephone line and the externally equipped telephone set in a non-conductive state, connects the ringer circuit and the externally equipped telephone set in a conductive state, and is the non-conductive state during a waiting period; and control means that, after the ringer signal is received from the telephone line, determines whether communication following the ringer signal is telephone or facsimile, when it is telephone, shifts the first relay circuit to the conductive state and causes the ringer circuit to generate the pseudo ringer signal and, when it is facsimile, keeps the first relay circuit in non-conductive state. |
