PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening levee material capable of easily forming a multiple natural type channel-levee having a function to create inhabitable environment of aquatic animals and plants and to purify water quality by covering and protecting a slope of a levee body, a low water level bed of a river, etc., and positively greening a river side by vegetation and a greening levee construction method using it. SOLUTION: A greening levee material A is constituted by filling a vegetation base material 4 mixed with plant seeds 3 in some cylindrical bags and filling at least one of a thinning wooden material 5, mortar and concrete in other remaining cylindrical bags out of the cylindrical bags 2 on a main body 1 on which a plural number of the cylindrical bags 2 made of a corrosion-resistant cloth material are connected to each other in a state where they are closely aligned in parallel. The greening levee material A is laid on a slope on a water edge of a river, a lake, a marsh, etc., in a state where an inclined lower end side of the greening levee material is positioned below a water level WL.
