摘要 Provided is an apparatus for irradiating ultraviolet rays capable of suppressing the degradation of ultraviolet illumination and an extinction ratio of an optical axis of a light source. Provided are an ultraviolet lamp of high illumination and high reliability and an irradiating apparatus. The apparatus for irradiating the ultraviolet rays includes a light source (11) which emits light, a filter (13) which receives light from the light source (11) and emits the ultraviolet rays, a wire grid polarization device (22) which is arranged on the emission side of the filter (13), receives the ultraviolet rays, and emits the polarization light of the ultraviolet rays, and a frame (21) on which the wire grid polarization device (22) is arranged and which has an opening part by corresponding to the wire grid polarization device (22). In the apparatus (1) for irradiating the ultraviolet rays which includes an irradiation area along the light source, the length of the light source (11) is L[mm]. The total length of the opening part of the frame (21) is TL[mm]. The length of the irradiation area (IA) is A[mm]. L>TL>A is satisfied.
