PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary cylinder device being at a weight of a practical level attachable to the rear end of a spindle part even if a hydraulic unit is provided integrally with it. SOLUTION: The hydraulic unit 20 for rotatively driving, by an air motor 25, a hydraulic pump 23 mounted to a mounting base 22 fixed to a housing 10 of a rotary cylinder 1 and thereby pumping up hydraulic oil from a hydraulic oil tank 24 to supply it to a cylinder chamber 4 is composed. Since the structure of the air motor 25 is not a rotor/stator structure having a coil like an electric motor, the hydraulic unit is light in weight, the total weight of this rotary cylinder device with the hydraulic unit 20 attached thereto is included in a practical range by employing the air motor 25 and can be reasonably attached to the rear end of a spindle part 60.
