PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freely opening/closing type information processing apparatus which makes a display device perform display after the lapse of a predetermined delay time from a change of upper and closer housings into open state. SOLUTION: When upper and lower housings are opened in a housing closing control state of a mobile communication terminal device, a control section of the device starts operating (step S401) and turns the state of the device into housing opening detection state (step S402). The operational situation of the device is investigated (step S403), a setting value corresponding to that situation is retrieved (steps S404-S407) and when that setting value is passed ("passed" in step S409), the state of the device is turned into housing opening control state (step S410), thereby making control to make a display device perform display.
