A toner, a method for preparing the toner, an imaging method using the toner, an imaging apparatus using the toner are provided to allow morphology and particle size distribution to be controlled easily, to improve fixation and charging velocity and to prevent image offset and scattering. A toner is prepared by the aggregation-coalescence of a latex particle having a bimodal particle size distribution, a colorant and a wax, and has a core-shell structure. Preferably the latex particle having a bimodal particle size distribution satisfies the relations: 0.09 mum < Za Pk2, wherein Za is an average particle size of the latex particle, Pk1 is the peak mean intensity of a primary particle, and Pk2 is the peak mean intensity of a secondary particle.
