A liquid crystal panel and an LCD apparatus are provided to be suitable for the LCD apparatus and be capable of providing colorless neutral display in all directions. A liquid crystal panel(100) comprises a liquid crystal cell(40), a first polarizer(30), a first birefringent layer(60), a second polarizer(50), a second birefringent layer(70). The first polarizer is arranged on one side of the liquid crystal cell. The first birefringent layer is arranged between the liquid crystal cell and the first polarizer. The second polarizer is arranged on another side of the liquid crystal cell. The second birefringent layer is arranged between the liquid crystal cell and the second polarizer. The first birefringent layer has a relationship of 1<Nz<=2 where an Nz is defined by Nz=(nx-nz)/(nx-ny). The second birefringent layer has a refractive index profile of nx=ny>nz.
