PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose buoy in which an observation equipment such as a wave gauge which could not be installed in a conventional multi-purpose buoy is installed on a sea platform provided from 30-50 m under a water surface and observation at large depth can be performed by making the sea platform to a virtual seabed. SOLUTION: The multi-purpose buoy has a sinker block connected with one end of a wire and sunk/deposited on a water bottom; the sea platform maintained in the horizontal state relative to the sea surface in the sea by the wire from the sinker block and mounted with the wave gauge or the like; and a multi-purpose buoy body moored to the sea surface side. The multi-purpose buoy body is arranged so as not to be positioned just above the sea platform, thereby, influence is not given to observation by the wave gauge or the like.
