PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wheelchair arbitrarily and easily changing the traveling direction of the electric wheelchair within a small floor area, adjusting the height position of a seat part in response to the sitting height of a user, and reducing the driving force of a driving means in an elevation base. SOLUTION: The electric wheelchair includes: a traveling truck 3A having a plurality of driven wheels 32 movable forward and backward and turnable; the elevation base 3B arranged in the traveling truck 3A so as to be elevating/lowering possible; a driving wheel 35 turnably arranged in the elevation base, thereby traveling the traveling truck; elevation driving means 36A, 36B arranged in the traveling truck, thereby elevating the elevation base; a turning driving means 50 arranged in the elevation base, thereby axially turning a vertical shaft 34 for supporting the driving wheel; and the seat part 2 arranged so as to be turnable with respect to the traveling truck.
