PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image capturing system which is capable of quickly displaying detected radiation image information for the user to confirm and allows a display device and an image processor to be placed with a layout freedom for avoiding obstacles to an operation performed. SOLUTION: Radiation image information detected by a radiation detector 40 of a radiation detecting cassette 24 is compressed by an image compressor 88, and then transmitted by way of wireless communications to a display device 26, which displays a compressed image representative of a rough radiation image on a display unit 94. The radiation image information is stored in an image memory 82 and transmitted by way of wireless communications to a console 28 in which the radiation image information is processed as desired by an image processor 100. The processed radiation image information is sent by way of wireless communications to the display device 26, which displays a detailed image on a display unit 94 in place of the compressed image.
