PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust system component attachment structure which can attach an exhaust system component to an engine by suppressing an increase of the number of part items, and suppressing the displacement of an attachment position, and an exhaust system component attachment method of the engine.SOLUTION: In an exhaust system component attachment structure of an engine which fastens a downstream-side exhaust system component 50 fastened with a second bracket 630 and a third bracket 730 to a diesel engine 10, the second bracket 630 and the third bracket 730 can be fastened to the downstream-side exhaust system component 50 which is attached to a reference face 111 in a state that the second bracket 630 and the third bracket 730 are arranged so that relative angles of a first abutment face 631, a second abutment face 632 and a third bracket-side abutment face 731a become prescribed angles with respect to the reference face 111. U-shaped piping 520 which permits the circulation of an exhaust gas, and has flexibility in a vehicle fore-and-aft direction is arranged in the downstream-side exhaust system component 50. |
