PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a vehicle in an attitude in a direction which is 90 degrees different from a getting-on direction.SOLUTION: A mechanical parking device includes a lift device 4 in a hoistway 3 on the opposite side of a doorway 2 of a berth part 1. An opening part 6 in such a shape that a longitudinal pallet storage opening 6a and a lateral pallet storage opening 6b are put one over the other is formed in a floor surface of the berth part 1, and a swivel floor 19 having a platform formation plate 21 provided on both sides of a pallet mount part 20 is arranged inside the opening part. When a vehicle gets on the pallet 5 placed on the pallet mount part 20 on the swivel floor 19 and arranged in the pallet storage opening 6a in a longitudinal direction, a lift type swivel device 10 provided at a berth part pit lifts the swivel floor 7 temporarily and then changes the direction by 90 degrees, and then lowers the swivel floor 7 into the berth part pit from the opening part 6 so as to mount a pair of short-side parts of the pallet 5 where the vehicle is mounted to a pair of pallet lateral sending devices 11 to be laterally sent to the lift device 4 in the hoistway 3. |
