PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an outboard engine which keeps constant the bow direction and position by detecting a practical movement of the hull to control the speed change gear of an outboard engine.SOLUTION: A controller for a plurality of outboard engines provided with a speed change gear has a plurality of selectable gears, including at least a 1-speed gear, 2-speed gear and a reverse gear, supported on a power transmission shaft, transmits a power from an internal combustion engine to a propeller through a gear selected from the gears and includes azimuth angle detection means (S100) of detecting an azimuth angle of the hull, hull azimuth angle change amount calculation means (S102) of calculating a change amount per specified time of the azimuth detected and speed change gear control means (S112, S114, S122, S130, S132 and S140) of controlling the operation of speed change gears of individual outboard engines so that one of the gears is selected on the basis of change amounts calculated. |
