PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a hat brim through rapidly arranging a core material convolutionally on a hat brim pattern. SOLUTION: This method for producing a hat brim comprises the following procedure: a hat brim pattern 10 is laid on the bed 38 of a sewing machine 30 and the tip 36A of a fishing gut guide pipe 36 is situated between a face fabric 16 and a reverse fabric 18; the guide pipe 36 is then threaded with a reinforcing fishing gut 24 to situate the tip 24A of the fishing gut 24 between the face fabric 16 and the reverse fabric 18 and allowing the tip 24A to correspond to a guide groove 48 provided on the bottom face 42A of a press mold 42 with the face fabric 16 interposed therebetween. Subsequently, the sewing machine 30 is set in motion, thereby the hat brim pattern 10 is fed and concurrently the reinforcing fishing gut 24 is also drawn out via the tip 36A of the guide pipe 36 and arranged convolutionally on the hat brim pattern.
