PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open a door again to conform to a situation for operation of a safety device and thereby to ensure the safety, in consideration of efficiency in operation. SOLUTION: A control device for a door of an elevator comprises: the mechanical safety devices 14a, 14b activated by mechanical contact with the obstacle and having an operating part disposed to a doorstop side end parts to issue an actuation signal for fully opening the doors 10a, 10b; a noncontact safety device having noncontact sensors 20a, 20b detecting the obstacle between doorstop side end parts of the doors 10a, 10b; a halting means halting the closure of the door under a condition where the mechanical safety devices 10a, 10b are not activated in closing the door and an obstacle detection signal is detected from a sensor part of the noncontact safety device; and a means for closing the door again, monitoring the obstacle detection signal from the sensor part of the noncontact safety device during a period of time when the mechanical safety devices 14a, 14b are not activated after the halt, and starting closing the door again under the condition where the obstacle detection signal is not detected.
